Current projects/installations

I will quite often be working on photographic projects and installations during my spare time, some of which are detailed below.  If you would like to get involved and participate use the volunteer form.

More details coming soon!

Just 'Me'

So many of us in modern society feel the need to carry and project a pretense to those around us, and thereby hide the real essence of ourselves.  A series of portraits will aim to dispense with this facade by stripping away at these layers revealing the true essence of the person underneath.

This project was inspired by one of my favorite paintings "Standing nude" by Euan Uglow currently residing in the Tate Britain.  Upon seeing this painting I was overwhelmed, the raw and truthful essence of the person presented struck me, and taught me that the 'true self' is the precious thing of all.  My ambition is to try and achieve the same in the photographic medium.

Participation in this series will require me as a photographer to understand and absorb how we might achieve this for you as an individual; and therefore may require some consultation beforehand.

Godiva

Growing up as a naturist I find it bizarre that society reacts so badly to genuine and innocent nudity, or do they?  When presented with such does society really oppose and object? Or is that our expectation?

This project aims to challenge perceptions by setting individuals in ordinary daily scenes, but nude.  It aims to show that the naked human body is not offensive and disgusting, but quite natural and part of everyday life and society.

If you wish to volunteer for this project please be aware that although as a clothed participate you may not need to be naked, you will be required to sign a release form.

Update: An official flyer for Godiva can be downloaded here.

Little Me

An enthusiastic and passionate semi-professional photographer for many years I took the decision in 2008 to side step my successful career as a Solutions Architect and devote my time to photography.

This blog is a catalog of my trials and tribulations on that journey.
