Favourite photographers

My favorite photographers

Sunday 24 February 2008 at 8:15 pm

Even though my photographic throughput of late has been quite frankly shocking, I've always found time to continue appreciating the work of others; here are some of my favorites.

Henri Cartier Bresson

The master of street photography, Henri Cartier Bresson embodies everything I love about photography and that which I strive the achieve, capturing the decisive moment. The effortless and natural nature of his photographs captures the imagination of the viewer like no other, an absolute delight and pleasure.

Jacques Henri Lartigue

I was first introduced to the life and works of Jacques Henri Lartugue when watching the recent BBC series "Genius of Photography".  His skill and ability in capturing such wonderful and captivating images with such early equipment just delights and astounds me.

Jonathan Charles (not safe for work)

I came across Jonathan's work whilst reading "Outdoor Lighting: Nudes" for a project I was working on.  His natural and perfectly composed shots impressed on me from that instant, falling in love with the technique and relaxed style of his pictures.

36 Photos - Street photography every month  - Neil Ambrose

I'm not sure how I came across Neil's site but he has my every admiration for the sterling commitment to this project that presents us with 36 fresh shots from the streets every month.  Neil is a fine example to every aspiring photographer that being passionate and consistent in our approach are essential qualities.

Little Me

An enthusiastic and passionate semi-professional photographer for many years I took the decision in 2008 to side step my successful career as a Solutions Architect and devote my time to photography.

This blog is a catalog of my trials and tribulations on that journey.
